Join us Thursdays in November for dinner, childcare and free parenting classes. Learn the RISE philosophy of care (Relational, Integrative, Supportive Experiences) and about the three guiding truths to caregiving. Each class builds upon each other so it’s best to attend all of them, but you can also attend only the classes you are able to. Attend in-person or via Zoom.

Classes are as follows:

November 7: The Developing Brain and Understanding Behaviors

  • This class will provide a lens through which behaviors can be viewed and understood. You will be taught how to depersonalize actions and begin to become skilled at soothing the “nervous system in front of you.” Last, you will learn ways to foster connections that help children form a healthy sense of self.

November 14: Compassionate Responses that Soothe the Nervous System

  • This class will explore how to soothe an activated/dysregulated nervous system. You will understand the link between co-regulation, compassion and attachment. Last, you will discover how responses can “rewire” neural networks that drive regulation and calm behaviors.

November 21: Compassionate Relationships and Community Can Heal

  • The RISE philosophy will be explored in this class. It is a method that creates predictability and felt safety while supporting regulatory function. It is an easy to implement method that helps the flow of daily family routines at home, as well as at school.
